Pressure and lighting pain in pelvic area

Hey everyone! I'm 37 weeks 5 days today, since Saturday I've been experiencing lots of pressure and "lighting bolt" pain in my lower abdomen/pelvic area. Could this be a sign of labor? It's my first and I really don't think I can go another couple weeks with this discomfort!

I haven't given birth myself yet. However, from what I've read, the pressure may indicate that the baby is dropping into position in your pelvis. Constant pressure will definitely feel different than a contraction and release. Also, the lightning bolt pain may be the stretching of your round ligaments as the baby drops. Hope this helps.
