I have a son already I have done this once before it wasn't Braxton hicks it was just cramping. I've also been dilated at 2cm since I was 36 weeks and I'm now 39 my dr stripped my membranes today hoping that speeds things up
But again we are not Dr's Lol. When in doubt call yours with any concerns you may have & congratulations!
They are called braxtion Hicks contractions. False labor contractions, it's your body preparing for labor. Feel free to Google and read up on it.
Is they aren't consistent and progressing it is not labor, yet. I just went through this and was like holy **** it is time and come to find out it was false labor. Soooooooo irritating. Lol
It could be early Labour but could just be the natural contractions of your uterus preparing itself for Labour. Some people's cervix undergo a small dilation for a couple of weeks before they start active Labour. Hope all goes well!
