I bought a medela for my dd and loved it! I pumped til she turned 1 and im really glad i did. If u can get your hands on a used one i think that would be the way to go.
I rented a pump. Then bought one from Walmart worst pump ever the double electric parents choice.
I don't know where you live or if you have insurance, but a lot if insurance companies will cover one, because of Obamacare.
I would look into buying used...I got a double Medela used and am so happy I didn't spend all that money! As long as you replace the tubes and other connectors (which you can buy seperately) it is safe. I rented when my daughter was 0-2 months because she was in the NICU and I had no choice. It was subsidized by insurance so it wasn't very expensive, but it wasn't very comfortable (too strong) and it was
loud. I had a single pump after that that someone loaned me and I hated. Its nice to have one of your own and that will do double duty so you aren't sitting there forever pumping. Good luck!
Walmart has pumps for cheap. I got one by evenflo and its pretty decent. It was $40
I bought mine for $200 and I definitely got my use out of it. Depending on what a rental would cost and how long you want to nurse maybe rent a pump for a month or two and if its going well then buy one.
