over due

I am 4 days over my due date today with no signs of labor yet. I am petite with baby growing uncomfortably bigger by the day. I can barely breath now and my sciatica pain doesn't allow me a moment of rest. I am taking long and brisk walks, staying active but nothing seems to be working. My baby is very active and her movements are getting painful, and I am worried that I can't tell the difference between contractions and her moving. Has any of you successfully brought on labor naturally? should I ask to be induced already or wait it out? Your responses would be highly appreciated.

Dear mollyandcasey27, all the best for Monday and between now and then there is still Sunday, so may be she will decide to show up before that... I had my CTG again today, baby is happy and active just no contractions. Will have another scan on Monday and discuss my options. They did give me a natural tea (alternate medicine is very popular here in Germany), but so far I don't see any effect. I hope things go smooth at your end and you meet your daughter soon. Thanks for your response.

I'm with you. My due date was 6 days ago and they are inducing me on monday. I've tried walking, sex, anything (other than castor oil which I refuse to do) and she just isn't wanting to make an appearance. Looks like it will take an induction before I will see her :/

@xcitednscaredmama Hmm... I might have to resort to that. Thanks for your response. I rarely get any responses on this forum.

Oh no sorry to hear that! We haven't been having much sex either, but mainly because of me being in pain. Tell him to get over himself and just do it once to get things started ;-)

Thank you for your response hon. My husband has been supper caring and supportive these 40 weeks but inter course is off the table. He finds it weird to have sex with baby being there... So no sex for us, its been months now..  :(

I'd say just wait a few more days, it's always better to get it all started naturally. Remember your due date is just an estimate as well. I'm planning on waiting 7-10 days after due date before asking for an induction. But I really feel your frustration, I'm only 38 weeks and really uncomfortable already. Also going for long walks every day and doing lots of work round the house. Have you tried having sex yet? Apparently the most effective way to get it all started. Good luck with everything!
