Losing weight especially in the first trimester is fine. And it depends where you start from. I have hovered around a 20 bmi for my adult life and was only told to try to gain weight after week 20 and even then I only need to gain 1 lb a week. Granted, I've gained more than that easily but I had been worried in my 1St trimester.
All that matters is that your body is healthy. If that looks like gained weight or lost weight it doesn't matter as long as it's healthy.
I have had 3 babies and pregnant for a 5th time, hoping this one will be #4.
I consistently lost 25-45 lbs with each pregnancy. Some women just do. Keep an eye on your weight loss and your baby growth, if you're eating well, losing weight and baby is growing properly, then you have nothing to worry about.
If you're still troubled by your weight loss, talk to your OB. =3
Hi DeeFisch, Maybe this MedHelp guide to pregnancy weight gain, from Week 17 of the I'm Expecting app, will help answer your questions about the pounds you've lost: https://

we actually should not gain weight in our first trimester intentionally. If you are losing weight but still eating like normal and staying active, I would mention it to you doc but now worry about it :)
Are you overweight? That can contribute to weoghtloss during pregnancy. Or if youre throwing up. Or if youre eating healthier then before
Your still in your 1st trimester so I wouldn't worry about weight gain right now. I gain 40lbs on my 1st baby, this time around I am 30els right now and put on 6lbs. I had lost weight up until I was 20 wks because I threw up alot. However my baby is healthy and my OB thinks I'm carrying a big baby. Talk to your dr if your weight lost continues.
