Chills, Hot Flashes and Goose Bumps...Oh My!!

Hey everyone. I hope all is well. This is my first pregnancy and the journey thus far has been an interesting one. I'm currently in my 6th week and am experiencing cramping, chills, hot flashes and goose bumps. When I cover up my skin feels hot and cold and I can feel the goose bumps coming up on my skin as if my body can't decide what it wants to do. I feel more hot than cold, but when I take off the covers, I'm freezing and put the covers back on...only to do this dance all over again. Is this normal and is there anything that I can do about the cramps? They're not really painful, but it is uncomfortable. Thank you to everyone who responds to my post. Be blessed and have a happy and safe pregnancy.

Thank you and congrats on your little one!! I have my first doctor visit tomorrow, so hopefully they'll be able to shed some insight as to what is going on inside of me...besides my growing baby of course =^}

I totally understand.  This is my first but I'm almost done yay!  The cramping subsides soon enough but will come and go throughout your pregnancy more than likely.  It can, unfortunately,  turn from cramps to pain from your growing little one pressing on stuff like your cervix and bladder.

I never took Tylenol because I am not a fan of meds unless absolutely necessary.   Check with your doctor about maybe using a mild heating pad.  Good luck and congratulations!

Thank you for responding=^). How long does the cramping usually last for. Is it something that I should look forward to for the duration of my pregnancy? Did you try anything other than tylenol? Lol, so many questions. My body is housing a little person and they are making themselves comfortable, so it's just a little weird for me that my body no longer belongs to me...at least for 9 months and then their lease is up, lol. Smh. I can't wait till Feb 8, 2015 ^_^

The cramping is normal because your uterus is expanding.  I had alot of uncomfortable cramping at the beginning.  I was calling my nurse constantly because I thought something was wrong. She told me I could take some Tylenol.  I have never had the goosebumps but I have hot flashes constantly even now.  I have gotten the chills but they just eventually went away.
