scared

So my doc scheduled me to b induced friday night. I had a natural birth with my first i was 40 weeks 1 day n that was 14 yrs ago. This time around im going to be 40 weeks n 3 days. Im terrified because I dont want to end up having a c section plus I heard inducing can b dangerous. I have 2 more days to go naturally ive tried so much n nothing is working :( . How did it go for those who have been induced??

I agree with Greekmom!!!! Measurements while still in the womb can be off by to 2 or so pounds. I'd at least go until 42 weeks if possible. You never really know until they are here. You are paying your doctor for a service!!!! They should listen to you and your concerns! Tell them you want to wait. They sometimes just want to induce so you fit their schedule.

You can still say no, ultrasound weights are an estimate. You are in control,  if you don't want to be induced,  just don't show up.

I too was induced with my first and will be again with my 2nd if she doesn't come before I'm 39 weeks.. (I make Really big babies). I didn't experience any issues, or complications. I don't think you should be nervous or scared about it.
Things can go wrong either way.. whether you deliver naturally or not.

Im sure that you and your baby is gonna be just fine. I was induced with no problems. I now have a healthy 9 year old girl! Good luck!

Is there any good medical reason for you to be induced? Only 40+3... I would refuse. Tell your doctor that if you're healthy and the baby is healthy you want to wait to go into labor naturally. There's absolutely no reason that a normal low-risk pregnancy should be induced before 42 weeks. You're absolutely right, an induction increases your risks for further intervention which put you at higher risk for long-term complications. If the doc doesn't have a really really good reason, say no. You're the patient, you're in charge. You have the right to have a say in what is done to your body.
