Dealing with my fur baby lol

Ok so I'm 28 wks and no matter where or how I lay my 20lb dog wants to lay either right beside or on top of my stomach. I don't care how much I move her or push her away she comes right back. I guess my question is will it hurt my baby? Why is she doing this now? And has anyone else experienced this with their fur babies?

So funny. My dog doesn't do this but my cat does! She's always been super hyper but since I've gotten pregnant, she's all cuddles, especially on my tummy. It's so cute when my little man kicks her through my tummy, she's not very fond of that though.

Sounds like your dog is protecting the baby already

My dog did that throughout most of my pregnancy.  I would just shift her to my hip, but still let her lay on me.  Far as I understand, its a territorial thing.  Dog is staking claim over you because your dog knows that you are pregnant and wants to show that you were theirs first.  Since my belly has gotten much bigger (I'm almost 38 weeks now) and the baby kicks my dog when she tries to lay on my tummy, my dog has resorted to sleeping on my feet instead.

My dog is 12lbs and he's jumped off my stomach more than I can count! He's a min pin so no stopping the spastic! It made me nervous and first but now that I'm 32 weeks he seesmy belly is bigger and takes another route! I've been worried about how Nash will do but my mom said to include him when the baby is here and not to kennel him because he needs to learn how to be around the baby! My dog is my pre baby and I love him dearly so hopefully he will adjust quickly!

That's so cute! My dog could care less when I was pregnant! (Baby is 6 weeks now) My 2 birds on the other hand? They would sit on my tummy and sing for hours! I have one who is 18 years old and he would just sit on me (: now that she's out, they sit on my shoulder and won't sit on my stomach. I don't let them near the baby, but they're both curious and they always want to see her when she cries!

And they always jump up to my tummy or lay on my lap with their paw on my belly lol. The baby will be fine they are well protected in there but if it hurts you just move them over a bit :)

Dogs and cats know when a woman is pregnant. Cats smell the milk in the breast. And when you sweat your hormones send off a certain scent that dogs can sense. I have four huge dogs two of them are very territorial when people come around me and the youngest licks my belly and boobs all the time lol

Animals have a heightened sense and usually know before we do. They become protective as if it were their own child. When the baby is born, it may intensify but there is no need to worry. As long as its not too much pressure or uncomfortable to you, your baby will be fine. My fur babies love to sleep on my tummy. I can also usually get them to meow a lot as if they are talking to my daughter so that she will recognize them when she is born and not be afraid. Animals are amazing creatures. Good luck to you and your pregnancy.

I have heard that even bigger dogs jumping up on you is fine because of all the liquid around the baby.  It is uncomfortable though. My little dog has always been a cuddle bug, but he seems especially clingy now that I am pregnant.

I have a little lap dog that when my sister was pregnant literally sat on her stomach like the dig was hatching an egg! It was hilarious to watch. With me being pregnant I don't like anything on my stomach so she didn't really try but Will last in my lap and get as close to my stomach as possible. Animals usually know before we do that there is a baby growing in there.
