Dental check up

I have a scheduled dentist appointent for Thursday. I just confirmed today that I am pregnant. Is it safe to get the X-rays done, or should I postpone my appointment. I'll talk to my dentist before to be sure, but just curious on what to expect.

Thanks for the feedback! I'll let my dentist know before they do anything, I'm sure he will pass on the x rays for now. All of my in laws go to him, so hopefully he doesn't spill the beans!

I HAD to have an x ray done during my pregnancy due to me breaking my tooth. They put double lead vests on me and my son is totally fine. Just make sure you tell your dentist so they wont do the xrays if its not necessary!

As above just tell your dentist. They may postpone x-rays but I would still go. Your teeth are more vulnerable while pregnant and about any other dental work is safe.

My dentist postponed my xrays due to my pregnancy. Make sure to let them know before they begin! Still go get your cleanings though. You're at a higher risk for gingivitis during pregnancy. Some insurance companies will even pay for an extra cleaning during pregnancy (at 3 months between cleanings instead of 6 months).

I do not think it's safe. You should postpone xrays. At least talk to your doctor about it first. I heard it wasn't safe to get xrays at all when pregnant.
