first time mom and scared

I know this sounds wIerd but the thought of some one else holding my baby after he or she is born makes me very upset. I don't know if it's BC I'm selfish our if it's BC i don't trust any one, I'm also very germafobic and to hold my baby when i don't know if your hands are clean scares me, idk its really bothering me to the point i don't want any one to go to the hospital except my husband. I don't mind if he holds baby. It bothers me even more that my parents kiss babys on the fore head when they baby sit and i don't want them to kiss my baby. I'm really really freaked out and stressed, please any other moms going through this or went through this? I don't want your opinion if your going to be rude or don't know what im going through

I was like that with my first...but when she was born we lived with my parents, and EVERYONE was constantly trying to get my daughter, I was freaking out. Finally after she was about 2 to 3 weeks old I finally gave into keeping a bottle of hand sanitizer and mask by me for anyone who wanted to "handle" her.  As she got older and I had my second child it did ease up...though, by the time my second daughter was born we had long been out of my parents and the first week after she was born my parents kept my oldest. I didn't go anywhere for the first 8weeks after she was born and when I had visitors they sat by the front door away from where the baby was. Or away from me when I was nursing.

Babyberry000 I did read your whole post and I was in no way rude. I understand your fears about your baby but I feel like once you deliver it will get better. In the hospital you will have dozens of drs and nurses touching the baby. Breastfeeding will help the immune system but baby also has tons of antibodies from you that they are born with.

I think you are being a little dramatic. I understand the fear of many other people being around your baby, however your parents are going to want to kiss the baby. It's their grandchild. As long as they are not sick and everyone washes their hands you'll be fine.

I was that way for the first month or so.  If someone just insisted they hold her I had them wear latex gloves.  I also wouldn't let anyone around her that even looked sick.  So taking her out in public accept for Dr appts was out too.  But after about a month the doctor said it was OK to expose her to some.  If you breastfeed,  that also upps their immune system by 45% or more.  I did that with my first and plan to do it again.  Like the previous comment stated,  I agree just to not overdo it.  There is nothing wrong with protecting your child.  I wish you the best.

I was that way w my.oldest as far as.germs went. Don't.o er.do it.like it.did now he always gets.sick bc I.never.exposed.him to things. I cleaned excessive and wouldn't let anyone touch him. He is always getting sick I men always! My you der son I was an but not nearly as bad and he doesn't get sick.much. so just don't over do it. Obviously the first few days are OK though. I also had a gf who was the same way with people holding her son. She got upset if her bf even tried it was to the.point she got very depressed.and would leave the house and literally didn't let anyone near them. So just be careful.not to go over board and it'll be fine
