Disability question.......

   Does anyone know how long it takes for your disability to start coming in? My doctor submitted papers on April 29 and said it would take 3-4 weeks for a response. What happens after that? I'm super stressed out about money :'(

That's true I should check with my state disability insurance office to see what I qualify for and when I'll be getting paid. I know there is a grace period but I don't know how long and honestly I can't wait. Thank you ladies

I'm not eligible for my short term disability until I'm out of work for 4 weeks... I'll be using my vacation pay and sick pay for that time... use partial vacation/sick leave for 6 weeks. .. and then use up my vacation/leave for the last 2 weeks... I get 12 full weeks

I have a week grace period before I started collecting mines.

Call your insurance company to make sure the doc filled it out properly and that everything is in motion.  My insurance sent my papers in when I was sick and the doc never sent them back. I called insurance and they let me know what the hold up was. I had to call the doc again and then called the insurance again to make sure they got it. Once they got it their docs review it and then they send the check out pretty fast. I am with Cigna by the way.

I'm in the same boat. Start calling the disability offices. I'm starting tomorrow also.
