Has anyone had or got pgp?

By EmEmEmily
Hopefully I've done this right
This is my 2nd pregnant and I'm 34w 3d. This pregnancy is completely different to my 1st. I saw my midwife yesterday and she told me I've got pelvic girdle pain (pgp) and I've got to see a physio. I've read up on this and it makes sense to all the pain I'm getting but I just don't know what to expect when I go to see them the differences are so different with what I've read. Has anyone had or got this that can explain what will happen?

Ive got PGP also known as SPD.  Ive had it since i was about 20weeks. I was referred to a physio and given a maternity belt. It does help when walking about but bit of a pain if you are travelling somewhere and have to constantly take it off when getting in the car. Speak to a physio and they will give you a lot of information which can help. My baby is due in 8 days so hopefully it will go after ive had her. X

Hi there, I have pgp /= it started after I fell at home during my 2nd trimester. Then again, Dr says its due to the baby weight,  im all belly. Have gained 34 lbs and im 30 weeks 4 days but its all on my belly. I still have my chicken legs and scrawny arms. Im on physical therapy and what I basically get to do is stretch properly for a couple of hours, every friday til I get to deliver. Some days I literally cannot stand on my left leg alone. I have to sit, to dress myself need very comfortable stable shoes and getting in and out of the car has been very tough. Sometimes I cry myself into the house. It hurts so bad to get out of the car. The pain is on my groin and it radiates to my leg lower leg and foot. some days I cannot stand on my left foot. Strange part its only on my left groin area and left leg.  Its been painful for me dr Rx me tylenol extra strength,  but I get nervous taking anything other than my prenatals.  I dont want to risk any problems with my baby. The physical therapy was tough in the beggining its gotten better, feel ive worked on my pain tolerance. Thing is the pgp is still there and will be there til after the baby is born. Thats what I was told by my dr and the physical therapist. They say, it doesnt happen to everyone but its unfortunate its happening to us. The PT advised me to get one of those huge exercise balls and sit on it squat on it and that will help. Let me know how it goes. Would love to follow up. I've yet to meet anyone that has gone through this.
