Drug Free Mommies

This is my first baby, but at the moment (Lord knows that may change) I want to be as drug free thru this pregnancy as I can. I've been really nauseous day and night and can't seem to get my stomach to settle. I've tried peppermint, crackers, seabands, b6, etc... My midwife offered to prescribe zofran for me. I told her to go ahead and I'll use if I decide to. My fluid intake has been compromised due to the nausea, and that's my biggest concern. Any suggestions because I really want to keep as drug free as possible  throughout this pregnancy??

I heard of a product called preggie pops. They are supposed to help.

I Think ginger helps me best. We buy ginger root from the grocery store and grate it in the food processor to use in smoothies. Also, I like drinking ginger ale. It doesn't help everyone, but worth a try.

I tryed ginger lozenges and still got sick but they might work for you, .. If you wanna keep it drug free with everything it can be hard cause you don't know what might happen with in days or months cause i didn't wanna take drugs but when you get VB or a UTI or a Yeast Infection you'll have too take something for them .. but i would try drinking finger ale in sips (like threw a straw) and eating small meals like actual food with it .

Zofran and a powder for constipation are the only things I have taken this pregnancy. I wanted to stay drug free as well, but some things are only helped by medicines. The zofran worked great, and luckily I didn't need it a lot. Eating normally made the sickness go away. But if you are set on having absolutely nothing, pineapples worked for me, toast, peppermint candies (the hard kind), bananas. Ginger ale and the crackers helped until I got so sick of them that even thinking about them makes me feel sick now. Good luck.

My only thought I'd to weigh the risk of staying drug free versus the issue you're dealing with. I'm dealing with depression but have opted to go drug free, but if I was suicidal or homicidal I would take the meds. Good luck though I do hope you can find something that works!
