8 year gap

this pregnancy was quite a shock. my husband and i thought we were done with the baby thing. God had other plans lol we have one son who is 8 yrs old and so far seems very excited about being a big brother. my only concern is that he has become used to being not only the only child, but also the only grandchild. has anybody else delt with a situation like this? i would just like some ideas of what to expect.

I am in a similar situation, I have an eight year age gap between my son and daughter. They are now 16 and 8 and get on very well.  I am also 30 weeks pregnant so have another 8 year age gap.  My son whose the eldest doesn't seemed bothered and my daughter can't wait to be a big sister.

I have one son who is 13yrs old and I am currently 30weeks pregnant. Fortunately my son is loving, caring, kind, respectful, and is as close to perfect as any child could be. Although he is a bit hesitant to change diapers he is is excited to be a big brother. I don't think it will fully hit him until baby gets here but I talk to him about the changes that will come and assure him that I will still be there for him in every way just as much as before. He is excited to meet his baby sister and I think he loves her already :)

Me and my sister are 8 years apart. It took a bit of getting used too but I was really only upset about having to share my room lol. Other than that the biggest suprise is when my mom told us she was pregnant again, I was 17 when she had my brother so that's a huge gap & it didn't change anything, my moms young so it wasn't a huge shock. I'm sure everything will be okay just help him adapt to it
