I had never even HELD a newborn until I had my own! I know where you're coming from. Nobody had told me that babies poop UP their back. Oh goodness I was holding my daughter in an office at an appt... She drenched my arm in poop. Omg. I was mortified. Fortunately though a lot of people are parents and they know what the deal is.

Another I wanna tell you to watch out for is other moms. Yes, they can be your greatest source of info and help. They can also cut you down and make you second guess yourself. Everyone thinks their way is best and often have no qualms about telling you that! Even the most confident woman at times will feel like she's **** it all wrong. Just remember though... they don't come with instructions. Nobody is perfect. It takes time to master, really! So don't get down on yourself if you didn't know something or maybe did something wrong. Its ok. You're human. Congrats <3

I wish I would have knew more about how breastfed babies have projectile poop. My little boy shot me right in the chest the following day after bringing him home from the hospital.

One thing I did learn is when they are crying and you can't figure out why. Is do the bicycle with their legs knees to the chest  it helps relieve gas that may be trapped.

Always listen to YOUR instinct because their are going to be a lot of people telling you things that aren't true (bad advice) like my mom was trying to get me to feed my boy cereal at 2 months. I had to get his pediatrician to explain to her why not to feed babies solids until 6 months. Not to mention my son was a Preemie.

Your pediatrician is the greatest person to go to when you have questions or someone gives you the unwanted advice. Don't ever worry about bothering them that's what you pay them for. Also If you can take some newborn care classes or parenting classes they really pay off.

There will be days where you will feel like you cant cope weve all had them.the best bit of advice I was given was is baby is having one of those days where they just dont stop crying but have nothing wrong with them (eg fed clean changed cuddled, played with) put them in their cot and walk away aslong as you can hear them cry they are fine its when they go quiet you should check on them or their cry changes (you will learn thecdifferent crys wirh time) just until you have calmed down and feel rwady to start again.ive done this technique with both my daughters and will do it with this little lady too.it works wonders.xx

Ok..we all know babies poop and drool and spit up. What nobody told me is that they don't always do it like we do..ok to explain. When I brought my oldest home I had a freak out melt down. He had this thick "discharge" coming from his mouth. My mom came in to me in hysterics. She almost died laughing because it was drool.  baby drool can be quite thick especially if they ate recently. Nobody warned me. I thought he was dying! Looking back it's really funny and I feel kinda dumb but, I didn't know! Lol
