Food Grade Diatomaceous Earth

Has anyone ever tried this stuff while pregnant?  I'm 14 weeks with 2nd and just past couple weeks morning sickness has gotten worse now along with diarrhea and feeling just generally like my gut is not in it's normal state. I'm wondering if I caught some parasite or something. I've been reading up on it and found a couple sites that say it's completely safe but as everyone knows pregnancy is always double triple check everything u put in ur body. Anyone that's used it ur input would be great!

What? Just go to a doctor and find out what you have and how to treat it...

Hmmm... I'm quite intrigued.  I have a recipe for an anti parisitic tonic from my herbalism studies... But that one specifically says that pregnant women should avoid it.  Don't know if all anti parasitic remedies are like that though.

I know probiotics are safe and great for digestive health.  You could also just have a liver imbalance... That can make your whole body go bananas.  Liver "cleanses" aren't safe but adding extra water can help.  Some parasitic cleansing herbs are fennel, senna, cascara segrada, and physillum husks... Buuut I'm not sure which are safe during pregnancy.

Maybe you could also try a fresh ginger root infusion.  According to my textbook it "promotes gastric secretion and assists with dyspepsia, flatulence and colic".

This is an older question post, but I ingest diatomaceous earth daily, and have now for 5 months. I have never felt better. It has changed so many things that I can't even list them, you wouldn't believe me. I've been researching use in pregnancy, since my daughter is now approximately 16 weeks pregnant. I can't find anything that says it would be bad for you during pregnancy. I'm recommending it for her to use, as I think it would only be beneficial for the pregnancy, but to ask her OB/GYN. It's silica. Research the product, it has MANY uses, and they work. It's cheap,it's natural, it's worth a try!!

This is second pregnancy and I was sick with my first one but it was bad from the beginning. I've read a lot people using it for dogs and themselves it cleanses the colon gets rid of any parasites or impurities helps with hair and nails, & helps joints among other things.

That's interesting... I'm an avid gardener and small plant business owner and I know it's great for your lawn and garden but I've never heard of anyone ingesting it before.  I might double check with your doctor or midwife.  And then maybe call another doctor to, like you said, triple check.

I say find out for sure because I also had major vomiting (like twelve times a day) and some diarrhea during times that I wasn't constipated.  Mine was simply morning sickness, nothing else.  I was told to do papaya enzymes & probiotics.

Is this your first pregnancy or 2+?
