Did you gals have a gender reveal party?

I'm doing both. At the gender reveal I asked that no one brings gifts, that it just be a time to celebrate and I am providing all the snacks, and throwing it myself. My sister-in-laws are throwing my baby shower later on.

Thia is a cute idea, do ppl normally do this in addition to a baby shower or do one and not the other?

I'm having one on Tuesday! I invited all my friends and family! We are having a pull string pinata to reveal the gender. I'm so exited and can't wait!

Yes, I had a low-key one with my extended family. The ultrasound technician tucked the result in an envelope for the bakery. The bakery then stuffed mini cupcakes with colored icing based on the result, with a cute topping. We had a couple of games at the party. Then we all bit into the cupcakes at the same time to reveal the gender. It's a lot of fun, since we really didn't have a shower. Have fun!!

I didn't.  But they are pretty common.  I was fine with just a shower, but I was also super swamped when pregnant.  Someone who already throws a lot of parties would be well set to have one to reveal the baby's gender.
