confused, with difference between weeks and months??

So the book,What to Expect When Your Expecting, says your 5th month ranges through weeks 18 to 22, but if I add up 18 weeks thats 4 months lol don't get it.

Well twosacharm I googled and found mmmm about 4 different calculations. NIH only does the trimesters.  My book from my insurance company has a whole other calculation. This is fun... im definitely still sticking to weeks until I am a 9 months... then I.ll just say ready to pop when asked how far I am lol.

That doesn't make sense... unless they are going by conception date... which most dont. Doctor s usually go by the first day of your last menstrual and if they change it then it's started 2weeks before conception. Basically ovulation is the start of pregnancy. So
weeks 1-4 are month 0
Weeks 5-8 are month 1
Weeks 9-12 are month 2
weeks 13-16 are month 3
weeks 17-20 are month 4
weeks 21-24 are month 5
weeks 25-28 are month 6
weeks 29-32 are month 7
weeks 33-36 are month 8
weeks 36-40 are month 9

I hope that helped you.

They consider 20weeks is 5months.. Half way point in pregnancy considering full term is 40 weeks which is 10months

The app I found says the same thing.  I just go by the weeks now even though the months sound cooler to me lol.
