Has anyone ever taken progesterone injections?

I am 12 weeks with baby #4 and my doctor wants me to start progesterone or 17p injections at 16 weeks to hopefully prevent preterm labor and delivery, since I have had trouble with all my other pregnancies.  Has anyone else ever done these?

I get my last shot (36 weeks) on Monday! I started at 16 weeks. No biggie. Doesn't hurt, but I have an awesome nurse who does them. My insurance coved them 100%.

I started at week 17 and my last injection will be next week (34th week)! They're a little annoying at first, but you get used to it after a few. The solution is thick as the brand name is actually Makena Oil. The manufacturer offers financial assistance if your copay is really high. I only pay $50 for a 5 week supply.

My insurance helped but we still had to pay about $23 a month for the 4 shots a month.

I got the progesterone shots for the last 5 1/2 months. I got my last shot last week : ). Its worth it. I have a serious phobia of needles but after the first few shots it didn't bother me at all. I went to the drs office every week for my shots and a check up because I'm high risk but I know some people give themselves the shots at home. Good luck

I did them this pregnancy. And they worked, I'm now full term! Yay! (Although note so ready for baby to come) My son is healthy and I didn't really have any horrible side effects. The shots are worth it for a healthy baby.
