Has anyone experienced this?

My sister is currently pregnant along with myself she is 20 weeks she is high risk due to being under weight....she had an appt with her high risk Dr Friday and they informed her that the babies ventricles on her brain are slightly swollen also there is a portion of her heart that didn't close and they are saying she is 2 weeks behind on growth and her bones seem shortened....she is aware that there may be abnormalities but has anyone had these results and can tell me what become of it?

Have her look into a harmony test or a MaterniT21 it's a genetics test done threw a blood draw. It's fairly new. I just had it done. I'm high risk.

She doesn't want to do the amniocentesis since she is high risk she will have ultrasounds monthly to monitor what's going on....she has decided no matter what she along with my whole family will all accept this baby however she comes and love her just the way she is ....praying for the best....she may consider the test at a later time but she is declining for now

Just so you know the amnio can cause a miscarriage.
It is very small chance though , still a risk.
Im currently high risk due to lupus and have been told i could be having a baby with downs.
Get them to do a full fetal check , including a fetal heart scan to be 100% sure. We are having all these extra tests done minus the amnio as i wont risk hurting my baby as we are keeping bub no matter what.
There is also more blood work they can do.

There's a chance of her going into preterm labor with the amnio. My friend had her baby at 26 wks when she had it done. Praise God he's a healthy 7 year old now though. . So really ask questions and everything.

When it comes to amniocentesis, it is your choice. Since you describe abnormalites that seem severe, the benefits of an amnio outweigh the risks. An amnio can provide info that can help with management. It's a personal choice. Could be a skeletal dysphasia and/or a fetal syndrome. A heart defect is often associated with chromosomal abnormalities.

Maybe u should encourage her to do the test so she can b prepared. That test amniocentesis is the best test bcuz it's. Coming straight from the baby.

She did the blood test for herself they want her to do the one where they take the blood thru her belly from the baby and test that way I forget the name of the test but she isn't wanting to do it....I have read some places some of these things will correct themselves but was curious if anyone went thru the same
