Confused

I went to the dr and he said I should be 8 weeks but tge ultrasound says I'm 5 weeks. I have to wait 3 weeks to know if tge pregnancy is viable and I'm freaking out since my last pregnancy I miscarried at 8 weeks. Is it normal for the ultrasound to be wrong about the weeks by so much?

Also my babies have always measured behind at the beginning. They are just small. It could be a lot of reasons for the differences.

Are they measuring from the same date. Sometimes the u/s is measured as a from ovulation date and your dr goes by your last period. Mine is always way off because my cycles are longer (38 days) compared to the regular 28 day cycle your Dr goes by.
