What are the top five must haves in the ol hospital bag? Im super simple and part of me doesn't really even want to bring one (we have her outfit and car seat in the car).
What could you not do without on Dday?

Change of clothes for you
Outfits for baby (you might have a spitter!)
Flip flops for the bathroom/shower
Chapstick
Charger for your phone.

(And a side note because I hate hospital meals- salt/pepper/ketchup packets- I've been collecting them from restaurants for a couple weeks now with the sole purpose of having some flavor to my food in the hospital haha)

My hospital charges for everything. Different states do things differently I guess but where I am from if the hospital allows you to use it they are going to charge you for it. Plus my sister works at the hospital and told me how they were and how to get around things.

Has anyone brought their own pillow?  I am extremely picky about my pillow and get a poor bought sleep without it.  I take it with me on any overnight trip as it is....

I am in the same boat!  Bags are packed but I will add cards.... good suggestions! !!

Besides what was said gum/mints to help with nauseated feelings or indigestion.  Flip flops or slip on sandals.... feet swell!!
A soft towel or at least washcloth.
Water bottle because they give you a small cup of water andb ice and such.  I packed a big bottle!
Also a spritzer / mister to help you keep cool while in labor and pushing and such.

A safe and speedy delivery to us all!!!!

1. Chapstick
2. Sample sized shampoo/body wash- the hospital stuff usually isn't great (think public bathroom soap dispensers.)
3. Deck of cards - keeps Dad good during long labors or if you're staying a couple days.
4. Snacks, you'll be hungry. I don't know who decides one piece of toast and one egg is adequate breakfast after labor and delivery.
5. Socks.  Hospitals are cold.

1. Camera w/ extra batteries and cell phone and charger
2. Clothes for baby (I know they supply you some during your stay, but I like having my own), a special stuff animal if you bought one, and a special blanket also (if you have the last two)
3. Clothes for daddy (if he's staying with you), I had an outfit for me to go home in with baby #1 but ended up not needing it because I went into labor in the morning. With baby #2 I didn't pack one because I was having a planned c-section in the morning so I wore the same outfit home. I had only worn both to just get to the hospital.
4. Baby book, I have visitors sign and date under the baby shower part
5. Snacks, I know the hospital will give you meals (daddy's/who ever is staying with you, if someone is will be charged for theirs) but trust me at midnight when your little bundle of joy wakes up for a feeding your going to get a little hungry. Or just waiting for your meal to get to you.

I wouldn't even bother with packing diapers, wipes, baby wash. If you plan on formula feeding, and there's nothing wrong with doing it or not, ask if you have to bring your own formula and bottles. Most hospitals will supply you with them and some samples to take home in case you can't get into WIC (if your eligible) quickly.

@jonesy2015. Not sure where ur from but I've never heard of a hospital charging for baby supplies actually they provide diapers, wipes, formula, baby wash etc....all free where I'M from which is PA. I've never had to pack a baby bag it's kinda unnecessary.

Make sure you bring a baby bag with diapers and if your formula feeding bring your own. The hospital charges you for everything!!!! I didn't bring anything but her cloths my first but this time around I'm going in with full diaper bag and my bag.
