U think your doc meant they dont stop labour after 35 weeks. I was dialated 1 cm at 32 weeks and now im 37+3 and still holding on. You cabt rush labour if babe and your body isnt ready for it and i wouldnt suggest it. Wait until your full term and then start tryng labour inducers.

If you are into herbs, at this point in your pregnancy you should begin a variation of Back Cohosh and Blue Cohosh. Google this. It tones your muscles and helps the braxton hicks contractions (warm up contractions). It doesn't bring on labor, but tones you up...and it WILL bring on labor if both you and baby are ready. There's lots of info available online about this. It's gentle, good for you and baby, and has been used for 1000's of years for mother's in their last weeks of pregnancy. Supplements are available at health food stores or...Amazon has everything.

Karina, I kind of understand why your doctor may have you go early with only one artery and decrease movements. Your doctor should be following you very closely though, you need non stress tests weekly and ultrasounds. But unless there is a concern for the baby's health, your baby should stay in until at least 37 weeks. I would definitely clear up this confusion with your doctor and voice any concerns you have. I also would not do anything to induce labor right now. Everyday your baby is in there allows for more growth and lung development.

You need a new doctor because that's ridiculous, the baby still needs time to develop

the risks of your baby being born at 35w far outweight the pros. No self-respecting Dr would encourage a 35w labour if they can prevent it.

Your baby is at risk of:

Breathign Problems (due to under-developed lungs)
Heart Problems (Low BP resulting in need for IV drugs and transfusions)
Brain Problems )ie Hydrocephalus)
Temperature control Problems   (not enough body fat to keep themselves warm)
Gastro-intestinal problems (problems digesting their milk)
Blood problems (ie Jaundice and Anaemia)
Metabolism Problems  (ie difficulty producing insuilin, becoming hypoglycemic)
Immune System problems (leaving them more susceptible to becoming sick)

There are also long-term conditions which can result from premature birth such as Cerebal Palsy, Cognitive and behavioural issues, Hearing, Visual and Dental problems, and chronic health issues such as cardiovascular (heart) trouble, asthma, and are also at higher risk of Sudden Infant Death Syndrome.

I'm not trying to scare you, but these are the reasons why your doctor should be trying ot prevent your labour from occuring until at least 37w.    You also have a say in your care and you have the right to say you want to continue to as close to 37w as possible. not let her decide that your baby will be born early. Some women stay 2-3cm for weeks before their babies come x

well she should know what she is on about but no dr would say ok lets deliver your baby at 25w, she should be giving you shots to try to prevent it for another 3w at least.

Are you sure your doc didn't mean they wouldn't stop labor after 35 weeks?  My midwife said the same thing but said she wanted baby to stay in at least until 37 weeks if possible.  I was two cm for like 3 weeks, then 4 cm for 2 weeks.

Im not in America so not sure what exodus is :-\ but worldwide the accepted gestation for early labour is 37w - before that they should be trying to stop your labour as opposed to encouraging it along.  how old are you?  X

@mommabear27 - thanks so much. I'm under age so I have to go to exodus & there doctors are always changing its the worst when you want to have just one doctor & end up with so many.

My son was head down at 27w, i had a premature labour scare at 29w and there is no way id want my son here early. Thankfully he arrived safe and well much later, but your baby will not be full term til 37w and faces more health issues from being delivered at 35w than 37w. You may be little  but your Dr has a duty to care - to you and baby and that's to try to get you to term, not to encourage premature labour. X

@shasta84- thank you :) I'm just eaiting on next tuesday to see what happens
@mammabear27- I really don't know why they want to do at 35 weeks all the doctor said was she doesn't hold babys longer than 35 weeks if already starting to dialte & she doesn't stop it either & I'm so little baby is starting to stop being so active like when he had room he also has a single umblical artery.
Jadamom03- seems like I might be headed that way baby is already head down since 28 weeks

Personally i wouldn't try to dilate quicker. You're only 34w which means technically you could only be 32w. Your baby would likely have difficulty breathing, need shots to help his lungs develop, and a stay in nicu until he can feed, breathe and stay warm himself without any assistance.   Why would your Dr be encouraging your baby to come early if not here at 35w, surely he would give you something to stop you going into premature labour? The national guidelines worldwide class your baby as being full term at 37w so if you start premature labour before this,  they normally give you shots to try to stop labour.

Nipple stimulation, walking around...things to jump start labor. So I would wait until you are really ready good luck hon
