chances of miscarriage?

Hi ladies! I'm 5 weeks pregnant. I had a miscarriage back in november, I was pregnant with twins but lost them at week 10.

With the new pregnancy I'm scared to miscarry again. Do you know if once you had a miscarriage is easier to miscarry again?

Thanks in advance for your answers

a lot depends on the type and reason for the miscarriage. if it was because there were the wrong number of chromosomes (most common after failure to implant) then it is pretty random. It is slightly higher with older mom's.

chance of miscarriage after successful implantation is pretty low.  It starts dropping after 6 weeks, then by week 10 it is down to 3%

Your risk is slightly higher because you miscarried....but not by a lot. It only gets really concerning if you've had two or more consecutive miscarriages. Since you're so early, I woukd just pray and take your prenatal vitamins. Once you see a heartbeat,  your risk drops significantly.  I had a miscarriage and im 16 weeks with a healthy boy. Youll be fine. Just relax :)

Hi, I fully get your anxiety! I had a mc at the end of last year to. I dont think it makes a massive difference and my midwife has said to have 2 would be VERY unlucky.  Sadly the chance of miscarrying with twins is higher. I kmow i couldn't relax this time until after my first scan. I am now coming to my second and getting anxious again - just in case! X
