Gender disappointment

Sooo I found out today that I'm having another girl and I'm not going to lie I'm a little disappointed. I really wanted to have one of each because I'm wanting this to be my last baby :(. I KNOW that's it's not about gender and yes all that matters is if she's healthy but I'm still disappointed. I feel terrible for feeling this way. I've seen other women have felt this way on here so my question is how did you start feeling happy about the gender you are carrying?

I found out Friday I'm having boy number two... Sad part is we all wanted it to be a girl, I was so worried and stressed... Surprised I didn't really cry about it lol. Got my sons baby clothes out and washed and put them away, that helped. Also the boys can share a room. Also, no surprises, I know how to raise boys. I wanted this to be my last as well, the idea of another one while still carrying number two is too much!! Can't imagine trying again and having another boy!!:0/

I have 2 boys..literally broke down when I found out the 2nd was a boy. I really wanted a girl so badly I had bought girl stuff while I was pregnant. having #3 now and would love a girl but it is what it is. U/s is Nov 3 so we'll see but I wouldn't trade my boys first the world.

I have only ever wanted boys, and I'm having a girl. So I understand the disapointment. It's actually really common, so don't feel to bad. My mom had my brother, me, and then my younger brother. And she was pregnant a 4th time and wanted one more boy. She ended up with twin girls.

I am having another girl as well an was a bit disappointed.  But I am so happy now. They will be built in best friends and will be so close as adults.  I always wanted a sister but had three brothers so I am excited for my girls.

Gender dissapointment is really normal and natural, so don't feel ashame trust me it wont last that long !!! I have 2 boys and now expecting a girl. Have no idea about girls though i hope i learn fast...Cristalmadeline: hahaha boys are not like that mines aren't they actually love water and being clean and smell good too (my oldest is 9 and he likes to have the hair nice and wear his big kid perfume) my youngest love to take baths, about playing with penis/the girly part is something babies/toddlers (girls and boys) do since they are in the womb is part of normal development of body discovering...poor boys hehehe you need one :-P.

I was the same way. I have a 13 year old daughter and found out that I am expecting another girl... I just looked on the bright side that my baby is healthy and then I saw some of the cutest girls clothes and it made it better! Good luck :-)

I have 2 girls, a 10 year old and a 2 year old. I wanted a boy so bad so that I could say I have everything I desire. I'm 31 years old and definetly was thinking this was my last pregnancy. Found out I was having another girl. Yeah sure I was disappointed too, but when I look at my other 2 girls I feel so blessed to have such kind, big hearted, beautiful, thoughtful, sweet little girls! And to add one more sweet little girl to the mix is just lucky!! I might try again for a boy.... Or not.... Boys are stinky, dirty, play with there penis all the time (lol) they rough house all the time... I might just stick with my clean, sweet smelling little girls

I have 2 girls and am now 23 weeks with a boy. With my 2nd girl I was extremely disappointed because I just knew it was going to be a boy. But a few days after her ultrasound I became extremely excited to have another girl. Sisters play so good together and they will be life long friends.

I have two girls and had an ultrasound at 16 weeks and although they couldn't determine the gender, I didn't see anything that would make me believe it's a boy. I'm a bit disappointed, but I love my girls and my husband and i are willing to have 4 kids, so we'll still have another opportunity if I'm right about this one. I'll know November 17!

This is very true sew2009! Society thinks that one of each gender is the "perfect" family therefore if people already have one gender they usually hope for the opposite sex. Very good way to look at it! Thank you that makes perfect sense :)

I'm having my third BOY...and my last baby. So no girls for me. I like to think that you are given what gender your can best raise...so I guess I'm good at raising boys. I also know what too expect with boys. Today, some people qualify a "perfect family" with one of each gender... I think a perfect family consists of raising the ones you have in a loving, fun, caring environment. I think disappointment over gender is an emotion many experience even if they don't admit it. Give it time and before long you won't imagine it any other way! :-)
