Blood Type

I am on my third pregnancy and my blood type came back as 0 postitive on my first two pregnancies.
This pregnancy my blood type is 0 negative.  I thought your blood type cannot change.  Has anyone ever heard of this.
They want me to take RhoGAM but I am hesitant because I do believe I am 0 positive?

I was just letting her know what I was and I thought my comment was very much related to what she was asking...

Correct me if I'm wrong but I don't believe being Rh negative or positive has anything to do with your blood type (A positive or negative) - I thought it was unrelated....

First I would have your blood tested one more time to make sure. Yes you would definately have to have a shot while you are pregnant and then one more after you deliver. I am A negative. I think you are positive because if you are negative you are very lucky you didn't have any problems with your second pregancy because you never had a shot after the first delivery! When it is your first pregnancy you don't have to have a shot during the pregnancy simply because it is your first pregancy but any pregnancy after the first one you have to have a shot during and a shot after you deliver...Have them do the test one more time!!! Let us know!

You need to have the blood typing test redone.  You can't be 0 pos and change to 0 neg.

Well, first off, if you are positive, a Rhogam shot now that you are already pregnant will bot be effective. I'm negative, but I have to have my shot right after the baby is born. I had one right after DD was born and that was in preperation for me to have another baby. So I'm not really sure why they would want to give it to you now.

As far as blood type chaging, I've never heard of that. Maybe getting it done at a different lab to see what they say would be helpful! Good luck to you!
