Induction time?

For ant moms that have been previously been induced, how long did it take from the start if induction to delivery?

I'm getting induced on Tuesday. As if Monday, I'm not dilated and my cervix is still way back. The doc warned induction could take 2 days, and I'll be kept in the hospital the whole time.

I was given potocin only both times.  I had to be at the hospital at 6 am both times.  My first child was born at 2:47 , so about 8 hours.  My second was born at 11:33, so about 5 hours.  I am being induced on Friday if nothing happens between then. Good luck to you.  I hope it goes by fast.

My induction was start to finish six and three quarter hours. They put the gel in and fifteen minutes later I was in active labor (from nothing). My best advice to you is deal with any fears or anxieties you may have ahead of time. They absolutely will not help you in labor.

Thanks everyone! They're starting me with just pitocin at 5am. I don't think baby has even dropped yet so I expect it's going to take awhile. Hopefully everything goes well.

With my first daughter I was induced at 12 noon. Had her at 3:56am. My second daughter induced at 6am and had her laye afternoon. So it depends on ur body and baby. Hopefully my son is different this time around! Good luck!

It really depends on how ready your body is and how your Dr proceeds with induction. I am being induced Tues at 38 weeks and as of Wed was only dilated to 1 and about 60% effaced. So for induction I will have gel put in my cervix Tues morning and check into the hospital about 6 hours later where they will then put in Cervadil and I will be monitored overnight while my cervix gets ready and then pitocin will be started in the morning. Best of luck x

It just depends on how things go. I have been induce 4 times. First one took 37hrs, second 30 but it had been 9yrs since my first, third took 11hrs, n fourth was 26. So just have patients, try to get as much sleep as possible, n always ask question try to be prepard for any outcome. Also my hospital will sometimes give u a liquid breakfast it like broth, jello, n juice n they let u take a shower so u can ask if ur l&d does that. It helps if u have to go a second day. Hope this helps n hope u have a fast labor!!
