I breed and keep exotics.  When my son was born in had 3 lizards and 4 snakes now with baby number 2 coming I have 3 lizards,  8 snakes that live in my house and another 30 at a separate location.

I keep everything locked.  My bins are escape proof.

My point is no matter what kind of animal you have you have to know the risks and be very sure you're doing things so everyone (animals and babies) are safe

I would say so long as your careful about it I dont see why you would need to get rid of her! we have a cat and  a dog and iv no intentions of re homing them! they both sleep outside but come in while here home, its not like ill be leaving the baby were thwy can get at it and im very (monoca from friends) about cleaning so hygiene wont be a problem! I grew up with 4 dogs a cat and 2 horses and I tirned out healthy! I would say keep jer and see how it goes! :-)

We have 2 dogs and this is my 2nd daughter.... we have a miniature pinscher and a great dane... both are awesome with my other child... the great dane likes to put her head on my stomach and hear the heartbeat.... we aren't getting rid of our dogs they are very much a part of my family.

Its more baby father who is pushing to get rid of her! He dont like animals. Especially my little runt ferret! He gave me kind of ultimatum!! He wont buy baby furinuture and the rest i need unless i get rid of ferret! I just cant do that unless i find a personal reason with new baby for her to go!! The ferret was the closet thing i thought i would ever have to a daughter! Now im having a girl!! It just pains me to start locking her up!! When she is usually out like a cat!! Btw she is litter trained!

Dogs are not disposable but people jump to the first mistake to put their pet on craigslist for free or give it awat but pets are still animals and are unpredictable so take some time and train the dog and be understanding.you got the dog now put up with the dog in the right way...

I would just be very careful. We had our two dogs for 7 years. And I was right there. She wasn't getting in the dogs face. She was just sitting there and he came and bit her. No warning. I was so pissed at him. He got her in the face :( ugh. You can never fully trust your animals. We were lucky. She could have lost an eye or if I wasn't right there it could have been way nasty :( I told my husband if either of our dogs get mean... they are gone. I was hoping it would have come to him growling at her and we would just give him away.

I have 2 bull mastiffs that are over 100 pounds each... But you do normally only ever hear horror stories not the good ones. It's a personal choice you have to make.

If you go by what you read you will see nothing is safe for babies and ferrets are the least of a moms worry

My comment was jacked lol sorry..stupied touch screen.but keep the ferret.they are family and you had the ferret already.there are articles on everything about whats best and whats not but everyone has different experience and stories if theres no reason from a doctor or vet then keep the poor thing

We wanted to get ferrets to before my girl were born, but when we read all info on them. They said its not good to keep babies around ferrets since they can bite their fingers off.
I dont care how many people here say they have this and that animal and its been fine with their kids. U are making a risk mt keeping animals wich is big or alitle wild infrot of babies. Many people here can say their babies are fine around their animals but at the same time, we hear all the time about kids beeing biten by animals, some to the eextend that they have died.
Sorry to say. But better to be safe with ur babies then sorry

Is there a reason? Like did a doctor tell you there's some sort of risk? I've had two ferrets, and I personally haven't heard of any maternity risks. My MIL wants me to give up my ball python snake "Snuggles"  I've had for 12yrs. Not gonna happen. I've always (and my family too) lived with a menagerie of animals. There's really no reason to give them up if theyre properly cared for, unless it's something exotic and harmful.

Im due in September and am keeping my 1 year old shiba inu dog for sure. This is just my opinion, i always wanted my children to grow up with an animal(s) in the house.

We kept all three of our dogs and the kids love them. We never had any issues at all of course you always have to watch kids with animals just to be safe for both animals and the kids
