Missed period, negative test

I'm not sure if this is the right forum to ask this question but i'll give it a shot. I'm pretty confident that i am not pregnant as i have had two previous pregnancies and i could tell with them. I had sex 8.5 weeks ago (Nov.25th) at the very end of my period (i thought you couldn't get pregnant during your period, but i've since talked to many women who have). About 22 days after that i got my period, it was a little shorter and lighter than usual but only by 1 day. My periods are usually like clockwork - every 28 days but since sept i get them every 22-30 days. Anyways i was supposed to get my period a week ago and nothing. I have been cramping for the past week so i keep expecting to see blood but it's not there. Just to be on the safe side i took a home pregnancy test and it came back negative (if i was infact pregnant, i'd be 8.5 weeks already so that should have showed up right?). I don't really feel like myself - pain in my abdomen, back, chest and shoulders, very tender swollen breasts and my belly is quite swollen as well (typical things that happen when i get my period or when pregnant). The only thing that is out of the ordinary for me (aside from my no-show period) was that on Jan.12th i experienced excruitating pain along my c-section incision site (my c-section was 10 years ago, but i still get pain from time to time just nothing that severe). This time the pain near my incision was so bad i was doubled over crying for 30 mins. So i guess my questions are, has anyone else experienced pain from the c-section incision years later? Can an 8.5 week pregnancy show up as negative? And if i'm not pregnant (which i really don't think i am), is there anything else that can cause missed periods, tender swollen breasts, swollen belly, abdominal cramping and body pain? I booked an appt with my doctor but she can't see me for another 7 days, so i thought i'd ask around to see if anyone has experienced the same thing. Thanks :)

My sister was positive she was pregnant with her second and she took a dozen test that all said no, but three months into it that she finally went to the doctor. They confirmed with blood test that she had been right and was in fact a few months pregnant with my neice. A little while later she decided to take another pregnancy test, for the fun of it, and it was finally positive. So it sounds like doctor time no matter what, because if it isn't a pregnancy you may want check that all the parts of you are doing as they should.

Some women on here have had to have blood tests before they've known as the home tests were all negative. Considering you had a period in December (even though it was a day less than usual) I'd say its very unlikely you are. To have that type of pain from section I'm surprised at and certainly never heard of. Good luck at the docs I hope they find out what the pain is. Best wishes x
