Mom's with experience

Would u recommend getting a baby bouncer and a swing? I got a bouncer at my baby shower that vibrates and plays sounds but I was wondering if a swing is beneficial too?

My son loved his bouncer, it had a vibration setting too that he adored and an activity arch above it that he could kick and later grab to make it play music and sounds. He hated the swing. Slow, fast, stopped, music on, music off. Hated even to sit in it. Waste of space and money for us. I sold it to another mama and got it out of my house as soon as I could.

My son HATED his swing! From literally day one he would never ever sleep in it. When he would sit in it for more than 5 minutes he would be too busy watching everything move Lol. Then after the 5-15 minutes of staring he would want to be held or played with.  It was a big waste of money for me. He didn't like being put in anything unless except his bassinet and when he got old enough, his much beloved walker. Both bouncer and swing barely got any use.

We had our bouncer given to us so we can spend money on a swing. I just don't want to buy one if it wasn't really necessary but I didn't think of putting my baby in the bouncer while I bathed or if I was outside reading or something.. That's a good idea! So the two separate might be a better choice for us in the long run

I definitely vote for the swing.  Lifesaver is an understatement.

My son lived in his bouncer as a baby and he hated his swing. It's hard to say bc all babies are different.

My daughters loved the swing, so did I. The swing lasted longer, attention and sleep wise. After 10 minutes,  my girls was over the bouncer.

Never used a swing for my daughter but she loved her bouncer! It was great when she got colds when she was little too because it propped her just enough to help her breathe without killing her little neck. Plan on using my mom's old swing for this lo.

I agree with brandy, I used both and would have died without the swing especially

My daughter hated the swing but I think it's the kind I had so this baby I got a different one. Honestly check second hand stores. Most of the parts can be removed and washed so it's not a big deal. I got one that goes side to side instead of front to back.

I actually had both. The bouncer is easy to move around. I had it mainly in the kitchen n bed room. The swing last longer, n i had one that plays 36 classical music songs. She stopped the bouncer when she learned to crawl but the swing when she learned to walk. If you can afford it, get both.

I had both a swing and a bouncer... the bouncer was nice since I could sit my daughter in the bathroom while I was taking a shower and move it around to where I was at. However, the swing waa a lifesaver. She liked the swinging motion to fall asleep and often took her naps in the swing

My swings and bouncers were a life saver. My sister got me a swing were u can lock it so it won't swing and chasm be used as a bouncer is called a 2in1 I can wait to use it

I agree with the above posters.  The bouncer is good to have because it's convenient for feeding baby baby food (I never used a high chair). But the swing will keep baby quiet when you need to get things done.

My daughter would only sleep in the swing the motor went out one night and I stayed up the hole night swinging it with and rope tied to my foot! Went and replaced it the next day!  maybe take the bouncer and return it they have swings now that detach and become a bouncer that's what I'm getting this time!

The swing is a life saver to me its necessary to have for baby. Bouncers are nice to have too but the swing will let you get stuff done.
