My husband

Decided the baby won't be coming any time soon because I am not miserable,  so that means I'm not close lol. I do feel like I will go late, which I'm completely fine with because it means I'm healthy and the baby is healthy and no reason to induce early. Just made me laugh that he announced last night I'm not having the baby because I'm not misserable enough! I'm 38+3 and yeah I'm uncomfortable, but also really enjoying being pregnant and getting some rest before the little man comes.

Thanks! Funny I want to go into labor naturally, but today I went in and my blood pressure is high again so they sent me to get an NST. My cervix isn't ready yet, only 1 cm dilated and slightly thinned, so they're wanting to give me more time. He said if my blood pressure rises again next week he will probably look for a way to induce me. Looks like I will be trying to take it easy this week to avoid that!

Rosalie123 that is so awesome you had a natural water birth! It is nice to hear someone's story who has had both! My mother in law went 2 weeks late with 3 of her 6 kids and 3 weeks late with one (back before they really did inductions for being late). My doctor says he is open to induction once I'm late, but I don't want to even consider it until I'm at least a week over unless there is medical reason. My blood pressure has been getting high, so hopefully it doesn't come to induction. My sister had ecclampsia and two seizures after her first because they ignored her symptoms until it was too late, so I won't argue if they need to do something for medical reasons. I think it's pretty cool your doctor insisted you wait, you don't hear alot of stories like that now a days! My husband is hoping he is as big as he was, 9 lbs 3 oz and 24 inches long.

Yes it is better to wait unless you or baby's health is at risk. I was induced with three because I was miserable and did not want to wait. My first came at 36 week's and was over 8lbs and healthy so when I asked to be induced around 38-39 weeks my Dr and midwife had no problem inducing. My last Dr works with a group of midwives and they run a birthing center. I planned a natural water  birth at the center. At the end of my last pregnancy I got uncomfortable and started asking to be induced and the midwife agreed that it might be a good idea because I was 38 weeks and baby was well over 7 lbs. When she asked the Dr to set it up he came into the room and flat out said no. He said even if I went over he would not do it unless me or baby's health was at risk because other wise there was no medical reason to. He said I had already decided to and filled out the papers for water birth and I was to good of a candidate to do it. He said he did not want me to change my mind because I was a little uncomfortable. I did go into labor at almost 42 weeks. I am glad he made me wait because the birth I experienced was well worth a few more weeks of waiting. I will be doing the same with this baby if everything goes as planned. Good luck and you are a good mama to wait till baby is ready.

Yeah, he makes me laugh! Last week his mom called and asked how I was and his answer was "fat" (I'm huge and carrying all out front). Such a smart alec! Little man will come when he is ready! I just feel like it will be better for everyone if he comes on his own. It's only a few more weeks, that's nothing in comparison to how long we are pregnant :)
