Welp looks like I'm on the C section train!!

Went in today and found out that I tested positive for HSV2 :-(. I have the option to deliver vaginally but I just can't risk my little girl like that. So I opted for the c section.  I've given birth vaginally to 3 healthy boys so I'm grateful to have had the experience. I'm glad my doctor respects and understands my decision. She told me I have up until the time she does the first incision to change my mind. It's scheduled for the 18th.

Thank you! I really appreciate it. I didn't ask to be tested. Testing for it is apart of my Drs OB blood panel draw. She said she started testing for it once she realized how many pregnant women actually had it but showed no symptoms.  1 in 3 people have it, most just dont know.

That stinks but in glad you were able to experience a vaginal birth before! I had no idea that testing for that isn't mandatory. What made you ask to have it done? Maybe everyone should ask!

Thanks ladies!! This is my 1st girl and I figure I can't change the results. It is exactly what it is. At this point I'm not going to let it steal what I've been happy about and thats my unborn daughter.  I'm just shocked that this testing isn't mandatory.  I've been placed on antibiotics to suppress an outbreak (even though I've NEVER had one) but my doctor can't guarantee me that my daughter will test negative with a vaginal delivery....I just can't take that chance. :-(

Herpes type 2 right?
Thats rough! But I think a c section will ease your mind for sure! I would do the same!
I had a friend who didnt know she had it and she gave birth, her son has severe irreversible mental and physical problems!

I am encouraged by your positive attitude!
Ive been facing a possible csection myself and been throwin a fit. You've you got a good heart!
