TMI sorry not sure who to ask.

So this is kinda gross and personal but I don't really feel comfortable talking about it to my husband or mom... I'm 34 weeks and I'm pretty sure I just got my first hemorrhoid. :(   I'm not really sure what to do about it. Will it go away? What's safe to use to make the discomfort go away? I've heard they are common during pregnancy. I just need some advice.  Is there anything I can do to keep from getting them?

You can use Tucks, or pads soaked with witch hazel

Add some Epsom salt to the bath when you soak, too. I have had hemorrhoids before, they can be really annoying.  A squatty potty helped me a lot.  You can buy them on amazon.

try not to push at all when going to the bathroom. and take breaks if you stand a lot. I found with my last pregnancy, if I was on my feet a lot, the pressure and gravity would make it worse :(
they will eventually go away though.

I found a good soak warm bath really soothing too. Also, try bracing by just clenching your cheeks a little if you need to lift something or when you sneeze or cough. If it starts bleeding a lot then maybe see a doctor about it but otherwise pain and irritation should subside.

I hear they are really common. How do you get them? From pushing when going to the bathroom?

Nothing to be embarrassed about, I've had them since I was 16! Just be good to your behind and the pain and irritation will subside. There are creams you can put on them that will soothe and making sure your doing things which facilitate softer stools will help too. Good luck dear!

If you're in a lot of pain, sitting in hot water helps.  Just make sure the water isn't too hot. Do it 3 to 4 times a day, to ease the pain. I know what you are going through, and this helped me.
