need advice about two yr old son and pottying

My son is pretty much potty trained but at night he will get up and pee and poop on the floor. I have tried putting a potty in there for him but if he uses itfor one or the other he won't use it again till its clean so he will keep going on the floor. I put him to bed around 9 then I go to sleeo at 1am and ill go and wake him to see if he needs to go but he won't then when we wake up at 7:30 there is poop every were. I clean it every morning but today there was maggots under his carpet. So gross!!!!! I scrubbed the capet clean off pretty much making sure I got all the nastys out but how do I get him to stop going on the floor so it don't happen again.

How about night time pull ups so his room won't be so gross

Is his room close to a bathroom? Maybe leaving his door open when you go to sleep then leaving a bright night light in the bathroom... Also if he is possibly doing it when he wakes in the am, does he wake around the same time? If he does you could try setting your alarm to wake up 10 minutes before him and go get him...

My daughter regressed since learning about baby brother and started peeing in her pants and bed when she was potty trained for a solid year... Its tough and really annoying but just keep trying anything you can think of... Also consult your pediatrician... They always have good ideas

He relizes he is doing it cuz ill walk in the room and he will look at me with this big smile and say I pooped on the floor mommy. I keep telling him Its bad and puting him time out for it but it don't help none. Even spanked him a few times for it but hes unfazed by it. I think he is doing it when he first wakes up cuz he does have night tarers at night so were in there a few times a night and it not there just in the mornings.

My cousin used freeze pops (popsicles) she said he would p fine but popping was a challenge so they started giving him half a popsicle when he pooped in toilet. If hes doing it in middle of night it will be harder

Have you tried setting an alarm for maybe like 3 or 4 and waking him up to go again? Does he realize he's doing it or is it more like a sleep walking type of thing?

Yes he poops every night. I tried the diaper thing but he just rips it off and goes anyways. Ill try the two pottys I haven't done that yet maybe it will help any other advice u guys can give me.  I hate that there were bugs on the floor I'm a major clean freak and that was so gross I dont want it happening again .

Put out a bath mat on the rug where he usually goes. Toddlers do regress when there is a new baby on the easy or just arrived. So expect a lot more issues
I'd put a diaper on him at night, tell him he had to wear it if he poops on the floor. And offer rewards for using the potty.

He has a poop every night?  Could you try more than one potty?  A pee potty and a poop potty?
