prevacid anyone on and when did you get put on it

My doctor put me on Zantac and have been using it more than recommended because it isn't working. I only eat raisen brand,shredded wheat and fruit. No matter what I get acid so bad I throwup. Tonight I picked up Prevacid at the store. I haven't asked my doctor because I am such high risk. I can't take this anymore with the throwing up.

Is anyone else taking prevacid and when did you start taking it ? How is baby since you have been taking it ?

I have been taking prevacid my entire pregnancy. I have ulcers and really bad acid reflux. I called my drs office to make sure it was ok and the nurse saidit was safe. It works wonders for me. I don't get heartburn unless I miss a day. Which I never do because it's so bad. I'm 8 weeks +4 and everything is going fine with baby.

I'm 38 weeks now, and I have been taking previcid & zantac the entire pregnancy. I have GERD and other GI issues prepregnancy anyway. One thing I did find our early in in my pregnancy was that I have a gluten intolerance! This is pregnancy #6 (child #5) n it wasn't till about 9-10 weeks in that I realized I just can't have any gluten! I was really sick n it crazy tummy pain, vomiting n everything ...so I would maybe keep an eye in it for you too...who knows. But hopefully the previcd & zantac work you can take then both n it's safe. :) congrats in your pregnancy hope your feeling better soon.  :)
