UPDATE>>>>>Well went into L& D like the dr wanted.  they did a few of the test to see if it was my water that broke and everything came back negative. they checked my cervix and I am 1 1/2 to 2 dilated and the nurse said about 40 to 50% effaced..... go to regular dr tomorrow and see what she has to say ... got home about midnight and because of contractions  got little sleep and they are going pretty steady today so far.... should be fun.... Thanks for all the advise ... I think I will look into the Nitrazine paper

OK, my darn phone keeps auto correcting my texts. /= it's called Nitrazine paper. You are supposed to grab a swab or qtip and put some of that liquid on the paper. It's a yellow looking strip. If it changes color then it's amniotic fluid.

The pad will be needed by the nurses when you get there. Wear one when you are going to the hospital. Make sure you call the labor and delivery and talk to a nurse. Your baby is a preemie at this point and it is not good to lose too much fluid. Call them while you are on your way and tell them what I told you above. You are measured at 32 wks 6dys and you are leaking amniotic fluid. A good hospital won't take this lightly and you would be brought back. Keep us informed, please.

There's a type of paper you can buy at the pharmacy. I keep forgetting what it's called but, you are supposed to out some of that fluid on the operating areas if it changes color it identifies if it's amniotic fluid or just urine. Let me do some research on it and I'll get back to you.

I would call them back again unless you just called. But you can try  this... Change your clothes so they are completely dry and lay on your side for about a half hour. Whichever is more comfortable. If your water broke then when you get up you will have a gush of water come out. Basically what happens is when you lay down it allows the baby to move positions a little and it makes them scoot up in a way but when you stand up it pushes baby back down and any waters that leaked between baby's head and your cervix will be pushed out.

natjayne is right. Put a pad on, if you soak it in less than an hour than your water is leaking. I went through this with my last pregnancy at 36wks 2dys she turned out perfectly fine.

The thing to do is take deep breath, and stay as relaxed as you can. If you are leaking water than you have less than 24 hours to deliver your baby before you have the threat of infection. Call your labor and delivery and talk to a nurse, tell them what you are experiencing. Most likely they will tell you what I told you, and it will have you just relax. If you are experiencing contractions then you're okay just make sure you go to the labor and delivery and when you get there. Tell the person at the front desk that your water has broken and that you need to go back to see somebody. Congratulations mama you will be having a baby squite soon, only if you are leaking water. But make sure that you do put a pad on and if you do soak it in less than an hour then it is your water broken. Most people think that when your water breaks if this big gush, when it leaks it will just be like drips and it makes it seem like you are peeing on yourself when you're not. Just called your labor and delivery nurse talk to them and they will tell you what you need to do. Congratulations again mama you're going to be meeting your baby quite soon!!

Put a pad on and if it wets through then its your waters that probably have gone. You want to get hold of your midwife and get to A&E
