I had my first child at 32 weeks and a few days. She was in the nicu for about 3 weeks. She is perfectly healthy 7 year old now. I remember my ob said every week makes such a difference. So if your 34 weeks now, I think your baby will be fine. He/she may be in nicu for a few days or a week but I think it would be more minimal. Just yesterday I was at my ob and we were talking about having my daughter at 32 weeks(I am 31 weeks now) and he literally said thr goal is 37 but if pre term labor happened 34 weeks is the goal.
I am scheduled to see the doctor tomorrow morning. I am nervous about having him so early but i am at big and dialated as i was with my first at 38 weeks.
With my first baby i was exactly 3cm dilated at 34 weeks. The doctor put me on bed rest. So two weeks later of course i was 36 weeks and they checked me i was 5 1/2cm dilated. They didnt try to stop my labor doc just sent me back to labor and delivery to have the baby. I guess it's the doctors and what they feel like should happen.
I'm surprised they didn't give u something to stop the preterm labor. It's still too early n the baby may have complications
It's all up to the baby. Some women stay 3cm for a few hours, and others stay 3cm dialated for weeks on end. Nobody can really tell you. Her lungs are not developed yet so they will just stop you from having her.
