I often use ****.com. I like them because they don't make you pay by the letter, but instead just give a limit on the number of characters you can use to engrave or embroider. Should definitely be enough characters for a name. Good luck.

My SIL gave me a nice bag from Pottery Barn that had my son's name embroidered on it.  Lands End does things like that too.
