Hi there! My babygirl will be 2 weeks tomorrow and i had the same issue! I was so atressed not knowing how much ahe was getting! I borrowed a pump from a friend ot is a medela and works amazing! I think theh run about $200 but if u have insurance check with them forst cuz they usually pay! Unfortunately breast feeding didnt work out for me :/ but switching to formula was the best thibg i could have done for her! Shes eating good, rested and i know she's getting enough!
What insurance do you have?? Call babies r us. They will advise you on what free pump your insurance covers. They ship it really fast and you will have it in like 2 days. Obama care allows mom's to receive a free pump for every pregnancy.
We received a "perscription" for a free one before we left the hospital. I'd call the hospital and see if they offer free ones or have any advice on how to get one.
My health insurance BCBS gave me mine. Not all plans cover it but u can check. It's completely free and they even send me the baggies. It's a double electronic pump with the bag
I have BCBS and just received mine. It was free, also if you have WIC or try to get on it, they provide one for free. Some hospitals rent them out fairly cheap too. But don't get discouraged the first2-4 weeks they cluster feed. My son ate for over 30 minutes every hour that first week, then it slowly moved to 30 minutes every 2 hours by 4 weeks. It's normal for them to want it a lot. Breast milk digest faster so they are hungry sooner.
I have a medela double pump thats electric. Its called the freestyle. Its amazing. I think it retailed for 400.00. I got it free with my insurance. Any medical home store will file the paperwork for you too.
