3-hour glucose.. MAYBE NEXT TIME!!!

of course.. my luck.. goooooo friggin' figure.. I PUKED! 15 min. after I get the drink down, I started feeling super jittery.. uneasy.. heart starting beating crazy.. ran to the bathroom.. and I lost it! "/

rescheduled for the 19th, if I can't hold it down that day, then I guess I'll just draw my own blood for a week & they'll go by that to determine if I have gestational diabetes. ugh, it'd be so much easier if I could just take the test AND pass the test!!!!

it's true.. pregnancy changes EVERYTHING. I've taken this test before, back when I was in high school & I was tested for diabetes, and I was fully capable of holding the drink down. today was just an entirely different story. I tried so, so, so hard to hold it in.. it just wasn't going to happen.

QUESTION: my OB suggested I take something for nausea before coming in.. (she was going to prescribe me something, but I told her I had some Promethazine).. anyways, she suggested I take one about an hour before I start the test. I just don't know if that's going to do any good.. sure, it may help with nausea, but I didn't just get nauseated.. I quickly went from being nauseated to my stomach saying, "NOPE!", in like 2.5 seconds.. I wasn't nauseous after drinking the drink initially. I just couldn't hold it in any longer. has anyone ever tried this method.. taking something for nausea before going in for the 3-hour test & it actually helped you hold it down? again, I honestly didn't feel nauseous until RIGHT before it came back up.. & to top it off, my throat is still super sore, and puking didn't help.. "/

@BambinoMiracle: VERY exciting!! that's never, ever happened to me before!!! lol thank you so much for your prayers.. every single one counts!!! that's another thing.. I'm "under weight" in their eyes, so they were super surprised a failed the 1-hour.. I do love sugar though! lol --- you're absolutely right, it's all in God's hands.. we can handle whatever the outcome is! that's a fact! I'm so glad you're back too! I quit getting on here as much because it just wasn't like it used to be.. thank goodness I still have you & a few others too!! lol I'll definitely keep you updated!!! ((:

I've gained way more weight since being pregnant than I wanted to, so that has me a little more nervous about the results. But it's in God's hands, right? I LOVE the fruit punch though!!! lol - isn't it crazy how pregnancy does your body though?! my mind was totally in it, I was all for it, the drink tasted just as good as it always has!! haha you got it though.. my tummy just wasn't allowing it today for some reason.. and I had NO idea! like literally.. in my head I'm thinking, "I'm going to pass out.. this is it.. wait, nope.. gag!" just that quick!!! I always get nauseous before I puke, but nooooo.. not this time! ugh.. - thank you again, praying the 2nd time around works out.. I'm sure your results will be fine! keep us updated though!!! (((: ❤

Oh I'm so sorry girl! :( I read your posts about your experience with the one hour test. I just took the initial test yesterday and I honestly didn't mind the flavor. I chose the 7 up one - and I was nervous because mine was warm which I thought would make it worse lol. Needless to say I thought it was OK, but I totally agree that pregnancy changes your ability to stomach certain things. Sometimes even if your mind is in it, your stomach is just not gunna allow it haha. I hope when you reschedule it you'll be able to keep it down and get this whole test business behind you! I'm nervous for the results of mine. Best of luck Mama! ❤

@jdhug321: thank you so much.. I'll bring that up as an option too! I just don't know if it'll work.. I sincerely wasn't nauseated at all. it was a last second thing.. I just felt like I was going to pass out. as soon as I went to put water on my face, I turned the faucet on, and it just decided to come up.. so weird!!

I'm so happy to hear you've finally over your morning sickness! thank goodness I only had it from about week 6-11'ish.. good luck on your test!! I hope everything works out for you!! (((:

My doctor told me 2 take a half of unisom and B-12 pill at night right before bed when I was having morning sickness, it works great I would recommend ths to any mommy, I am over the morning sickness now tht I am 25 wks but I still take it if I feel sick at any time, I even take it durning the day and it doesn't make me sleepy. If I was you I would try tht. I go for my test in a few wks and I am difinely gonna take it just in case. I hope ths helps u a little.

@smcdsmcd: that's VERY true.. Promethazine does make me super sleep, and that might not be a good idea huh?! I think I'll give them a call tomorrow & request the Zofran!! thank you so much for bringing that up.. gosh, I'm praying it works! I hate that you were so sick afterwards! I actually felt great once it came back up.. aside from just being super exhausted & angry!! lol thank you again, and I'll definitely keep you updated!!!! (((:

Oh no!!!!  I was able to keep mine down but it made me super sick afterward :( I was supposed to drive to a doc apt after and never made it bc I was so sick  :( I did pass the 3 hour tho, even tho I was sick.  I haven't been sick this whole pregnancy except for after this test and after I took an iron pill for anemia.  I feel great unless is something the doc has me do. Hahahah. Good luck on round two.  

As for the nausea meds, I would say it's worth a try.  I think Zofran is better at preventing nausea and vomiting than promethazine. Also it doesn't cause drowsiness like promethazine.  I get migraines ( or did before pregnancy,  they have mysteriously disappeared!!) And I usually have to take Zofran before migraine med bc it makes me vomit. Works for me to prevent the vomiting associated w my headache meds! I can't take promethazine tho bc it knocks me out for half a day at least.

@Alexis: ugh, that's how I felt!!! it was so awful.. even my fiancé wondered why I didn't tell him.. I said, "I didn't feel like I was going to puke!" lol I had a super sore throat since yesterday though, haven't been running a fever, but I've just felt HORRIBLE.. praying I'll feel 100% better by the 19th & that'll help me keep it down..

@Schmalzy: good luck girly! I had no problem with the 1-hour, but you only have to drink half the bottle for that one.. you have to drink the whole bottle for the 3-hour. again, I knew that, and I assumed I'd be fine.. I'm the same way, I love sugar! I really had a taste for the drink too! I always get the fruit punch flavor, and I LOVE it sweet!! it scares me that I felt "faint" before I even felt nauseous.. I hope that's not a sign of GD.. "/ --- keep me updated, I'm sure you'll do fine!! (((:

I know what you mean, once I started feeling like I was gonna pass out I told my doctor and she got me some toast and small water bottle. That seemed to help with the fainting part but once I got home I ran to my bathroom and was sick for a good 10 mins :/ no fun and I couldn't eat anything else that whole day. Ut messed my throat up and left a nasty taste no matter how many times I brushed my teeth.

@Pattyann215: I did drink it a little fast.. but I didn't think I drank it fast enough to get sick off of. I'm starting to worry that pregnancy has just changed my tolerance to it.. cause I did perfectly fine before getting pregnant. ugh, I'll try one more time, but after that.. I'd rather test my blood for a week & see how that goes! errrrr...

I just felt funny, so initially I was going to the back to find a nurse in case I passed out cause I knew my fiancé would freak out lol, but as soon as I get back there something told me to just run to the bathroom.. I was going to put cold water on my face, but it just decided not to stay down! "/

I took mine yesterday and was surprised I didn't puke because I usually do when I drink that stuff. I never liked it. I had a bottle of water and sipped both slowly until it was done
