Question for all moms

I just saw a question of a lady that is in another blog, she said that she is so tired she doesnt know when to shower. One person said to put the baby in a bouncer seat close the bathroom door and take a hot shower.

I looked up and saw this helps with sick babies but I personally dont think this is a safe idea nor is it safe to me to have the infant in the bathroom with the door closed.

I wanted to get the opinions of moms already, would you put your baby in a bouncer while you shower and have the bathroom hot and steamy with the baby just sitting there ?

I personally wouldnt close the door, if I had to shower I would put the bouncer in the doorway and leave the door open.

Did this with both my kids they both are fine.... Swing is a lifesaver too iI swear by it..... Are you a FTM? Why wouldn't steam be good for the baby's lungs? Steam opens the airways so I think sick or not baby is going to have some pretty strong lungs if in steam 10 mins a day

Being in a steamy room will  help with breathing . I dont think I would normally take that long in the shower.but  like you said  I do that with all babies in my family that have a stuffy nose.

I have a 5 yr. old son & I use to either put him in his bounce chair or swing while I took a shower all the time. I did leave the door cracked open & just had him in there in a way I could look out & see him & he could see me, but most of the time he just feel asleep. Yes it does help when your baby's sick. I did it when my son would not feel well & my dr. even had me use these vapor things that go in the shower.

My daughter had broncitis and doctor recommended her to be in the restroom while I showered to help her nose etc. Clear up

As a former military I still take the quickest showers ever! Under 7 minutes which includes shampooing my hair twice and conditioning once and soaping my body 2 and rinsing and shaving my armpits. I dont see the baby taking any of my shower time lol. In the other hand my husband likes his showers 45 minutes lol.

It fine to put baby in bathroom with you with door shut. If they have mucous it is about all you can do for a small baby. Steam is good for baby's.

It's fine. I'd maybe crack the door and/or turn on the fan, but it's not unsafe at all.

I think its fine with the door open. You have to find a way to make time. My moms last three was all a year apart. The swing and bouncer was her best freinds when it came time to clean house and showering and things of that nature.

I showered with my daughter in her swing I knew she would be ok for 15 min all fed and freshly changed and most times I would come out and she would be asleep! So u have to find to me and make time it's hard for all ftm in the beginning to work out a new life schedule!

I've done it and the steam is good for the baby's airways. Plus you can relax while your little one is in there with you. My daughter is now 7 and has an amazing respiratory system.  You could always check with your doc as well.

I would put the bouncer in the bathroom but leave the door open and fan on. Plus as a mom you don't get the luxury of a 30min shower anymore anyway, 10 minutes and done.
