belly button piercing and pregnancy???

I'm 6 wks and I have my belly button pierced. Do I need to remove it before I get big or does it not matter and will leave a giant whole either way? I got it pierced after I had my son 12 yrs ago...

Thnx :) I would like to still have it after baby. I think I may need to have a caesarian since after my son was born 12 yrs ago the Dr said I would because the way they cut me... It was an emergency so they had to cut me horizontal on the outside and do a cross cut on the inside... Not sure if I still will need one since its been so long. I have my first apt on Jan 9th and should b about 9 wks then.

I always kept mine in until it became uncomfortable, or with my first and second, when I got to the hospital to deliver they made me take it out

I have my belly button pierced I took it out at five months because it was starting to get infected but I have an dermal under my belly button which would have to be surgical removed but actually my doctor said it would be fine im now eight weeks left in pregnancy and my doctor said it was fine to keep in.if u do want to keep your belly ring in get a longer bar bell and it will be fine. ;)

Thnx everyone for the feedback :) I think I will leave it in as long as it doesn't cause any issues and possibly look into a maternity bar. I didn't know there was such a thing. I only carried to 25 wks with my son so its going to b very new to me getting a real baby bump not to mention going back to bottles and diapers again. I feel like so much has changed since my lil man was a baby. I need to get up to date lol

I am 36 weeks and have kept mine... I bought a maternity bar and it looks just like it always does. I won't be taking it out except for labor and delivery.

I'll be 22 weeks on Tuesday and I still have mine in. It hasn't been irritated or anything but obviously if it gets to that point where it's uncomfortable to wear or will cause a problem I'll take it out. But for now I'm keeping it in. Doctor hasn't said anything about it to me either and if she has concerns them I'll take it out.

I took mine out with my first and never put it back, there is just a little scar where the hole once was but that's it. If you wanted to keep it then you can get maternity bars that are longer and flexible, a friend used one and it worked really well for her.

Remove it, it won't close up or anything. It'll just sink and you can re stretch it later. You will have a line there a little different then your skin color but no worries.  I had mine pierced after i had my first child as well which was 11yrs ago. I'm 33wks now with my second child, i had to remove it because it started getting irritated as I'm getting bigger. After you have the baby if you decide to put it back in stick a regular earing in their to clean it out. Then try a belly piercing but a small gage first, to stretch the hole.
