Thanks everyone. I really don't have reason to believe that my due date is off by months but I let my thoughts get the best of me after reading about a woman who had her baby 2 months early and baby was fully developed so docs said her due date was wrong...turns out what she thought was her period was actually early bleeding blah blah blah. Thanks again for the responses.
They should actually be able to tell how far along you are very accurately from weeks 6-13. There's a formula based on crown to rump length. After 13 weeks, growth starts top become much more individual to each baby, but before that, it's very accurate. So no, I doubt you would be more than a week or two off.
If you are getting prenatal care, it its highly unlikely that you would be off by 2 months. They would know from your 20 anatomy scan.
I know a girl who's hubby was.army. they were in Louisiana and she had a stillborn BC the doctors were.off by a month. She went in around "8" months saying something was wrong and the kept assuring g her its fine go home.go home. She.kept calling n getting the same thing. So at about "9" months she started getting really sick so she went in and the couldn't find a heartbeat. She was a whole month farther. I know its rare but it can happen..
If your baby is measuring larger or smaller by more than 2 weeks they will change your due date and tell you. That's what my doctor said at least. My baby has measured 6 days early at my last two ultrasounds (27 and 30 weeks), but was only 2 days ahead at 20 weeks. If it was months they would have definitely been able to tell, like another poster said, babies go through growth spurts and they grow at different rates, but months would be alarming and they would inform you. Why do you think it could be months off?
Yes you *should be told. Unlike me, whose measuring a week ahead and my doc never told me. I only found out after spending the night in the hospital! But yes, only a week or two it could be off as I do believe 2 months is unrealistic if you've been to regular check ups and ultrasounds.
I am 22 weeks :)
Measurements are more accurate during early pregnancy so if your due date was off they would have changed it but they give 2 weeks and take 2 weeks sometimes... my doctor just told me at my last appointment I was measuring bigger but he's not changing my due date bkuz baby go through growth spurts
Technology is so advanced. The ultrasound will measure the baby from head to rump and eventually head to toe so they are very accurate on how far along you are I'm the pregnancy. They maybe off a week, but a month or more is unrealistic.
Yes u would of been informed
