I am negative and this is my second pregnancy and always got the shots. If baby is positive and your blood comes into contact with babies then there could be bad effects. I would always get the shots be safe and don't risk your health and baby's health x
Nope.. my husband is B positive.. so I better take d precautions..
& thahks everyone else :) I'm quite nervous about everything... so thanks for ur support
Thanks alexis.. I'll chk with my doc anyways.. :)
Thanks megan.. I will ask my doc when I see her next.. my sis is negative too, so she'S been telling me to chk too.. she doesn remember when they gave her d shots..
Please read about Hemolytic disease of the newborn very serious. You never know when you can slip and fall or involve on any accident. Protecting your baby is your # priority. I have girl who almost lost her baby after refusing the shot. She trip and fell and started bleeding they had to rush to get the baby out cause her antibodies started to attack the fetus because it sees it as foreign. I am saying that to scare you but do think about the risk and complication..
If your baby daddy is rh negative you will not need it otherwise you are putting yourself and your future pregnancy at risk. Plus your baby can be born with HDN.
Is your baby dady is also rh negative
It may be best to just mention it to them, although you should hopefully have it planned in for 28 weeks, maybe they have it in yout notes to do but will talk about it nearer the time. You have one after birth too, normally within 72 hours to stop antibodies developing incase your babies blood type was postitive in order to stop any problems with future pregnancies. They are nothing to worry about xx
You will need it later during pregnancy and them after birth or in the event of trama. Talk to your doctor at your next appt and they can explain but nothing to worry over now.
They usually give it to you at 28 weeks. Still talk to your doctor about it and see if you need it.
Hi ladies... I'm 15 weeks now.. I've a negative blood type too but my doc has not mentioned a rhogam shot.. should I ask for it? This is my first pregnancy..
I have negative blood type as well and this is my 2nd pregnancy getting the rhogam shot. I always get it because I don't wanna chance anything happening to my baby or me. This pregnancy I got it twice already.
As you.can never predict what can happen. Xx
I have a negative blood type and make sure I get all the doses when needed. Although I plan this to be my last baby I would still never risk the chance of a reaction that would lead to my body fighting again.future babies. Also the chance a of un-noticed bleed in a current pregancy can be higher than you realise. My last pregnancy we were involved in near miss accident, the bus we were on stopped suddenly and I was jolted, although not hurt my tummy suffered a jolt and I needed a extra shot as any blunt tramua or sudden jarring can cause bruising inside.which.can then mixed your bloods. I was lucky I had my.28 week shot as the extra ment is was just for caution. My.belief is if it is recommended why risk not.having it.
