being induced

My doctor is going to induce me at 39 weeks if my baby isn't here.  I have gestational diabetes and at 36 weeks they were estimating babies weight to be 8 lb 1 oz.  I've heard the good the bad and the ugly about inductions so I don't need those stories what I would like to know though for those that have been induced did you do anything before hand to make it easier?

I was induced with my son 7 years ago. Yeah try to rest the night before. The contractions may be rough, but if you can't take it definitely get the epidural. I went natural and found that the breathing really helped me.
