genital herpes outbreak during conceiving

  Hello !
I just found  out that i am pregnant but i remembered that i had a genital outbreak during the ovulation.  Husband has it too, so there was no reason why to protect and i had no idea ( i still don't) if herpes can cause problems to the baby in such an early stage or pregnncy. In fact i didn't even know i will end up pregnant, especialy that Ive been trying for the past 6 months and no luck.
Though, i did get pregnant now and i had genital herpes while ovulation which lasted  like 7 days and i don't think i had it when implantion occured .
So, my question is if my baby could have contacted herpes if i had n outbreak during ovulation and conceiving.
  Thank you for your answers.

It's just a virus. Your baby will be fine. If you get frequent outbreaks, ask your doctor for medication to control them while pregnant. Especially request them during your third trimester as delivery with an outbreak WILL affect baby. Have dad request medication as well. All will be fine. Relax and enjoy your pregnancy.

I don't think it does anything during conception now before birth the Dr should give you meds to prevent a break out before and during delivery but if you gota break out and delivered vaginally the baby runs the risk of being blind so they do a c section if there's no break out then you can deliver vaginally no problem and baby is fine

With an STD they can probably do a scheduled c-section. Even if you don't have an outbreak you can pass it along so a c-section may be in your best interest. :) good luck hun

there's no real issue until you're in labor. if you have one, or are in the 'shedding' stages when you are ready to have a baby or are prone to O/B's a lot, they'll more than likely just schedule a C-section.

I believe they can get it if you have an outbreak during labor but not sure about the way youre speaking of,just ask a doctor
