Starting work in the middle of pregnancy

I'm currently 5 months pregnant, and everything is going fine with my pregnancy. I put in job applications for a small part time job. I'm at home most of the time, and my doctor said I'd be able to work. I just want to pick up a few hours, and more around a little bit more than  I do until I feel I can't work anymore. I just had a call back for a interview, and I'm kind of nervous. I had no problems working while I was not pregnant, now it's different. I'm a first time mom, and I just don't want anything to happen. I told them that I would come in for a interview, but I have to tell them about the pregnancy. How can I bring that up in the interview? Also has anyone started working months before they were due?

I am a manager of a convenient store,I would prefer if someone told me about pregnancy asap so I could insure they were put in a position that would not complicate pregnancy.  Being pregnant is not a handicap.  I worked 50 hr weeks up until I was 38 wks pregnant. You know your limits.  Good Luck

As long as its not a job thats extremely physical and you have a uncomplicated pregnancy. Youll be fine working without restrictions.  I wouldnt tell them during the interview.

Some people say hide it now, but if you plan on staying with this company they will respect you more for being honest. I started working 8 weeks into my pregnancy back in August, I didn't tell anyone until I hit 13 weeks. My boss however knew I was pregnant because I worked for then temporarily back in June, but I miscarried. His boss didn't know until Dec. , they just started interviewing for my sub.

I say be honest, especially if you need work, but then I work for a company that is women focused.

I started my job about 1 1/2 months ago and found out I was pregnant about 2 weeks after I started. I was afraid to tell my manger because I felt that he would want to fire me, but the stubborn women I am decided that I was going to go tell him and if he fired me then forget that job. It actually turned out great! My manager and coworkers support me and are happy for me. & are planning on me being gone when I have my baby. So Good luck to all you women!! I hope it turns out good!!

I actually just started a new job myself working in a group home.i got fired from the last home I was working at for being pregnant so now I am pushing a case for that issue but if it's a small job where there isn't a lot of lifting required, I don't see why they would have a problem with you being pregnant

I would not tell them about the pregnancy so soon maybe after your probation period. And always make sure you have a Dr's note for anything. I was working 1 month into getting hired I got pregnant and the following month I informed my boss and I had a pregnancy note with restrictions. A few weeks after that I got fired. And I definitely felt I got discriminated against my pregnancy. So now I have no job and no insurance. On the brighter side a lawyer recently scepter my case. Good luck to me.

I start in a few weeks a new job and I just so found out I'm 6 weeks. (I know it's early) but it's a serving job so I'm worried about down the road. Being on my feet running all day, no maternity leave, the uniform... Uhhh

Ok so I just got hired at 6 months prego. I hid the pregnancy during the interview because I didn't want to be discriminated against (even though that's illegal).  So now I have to bring it up when I start which is obviously going to be a little awkward but it's a really easy part time retail clothing store.
