Placenta pills

I have been thinking about taking placenta pills after I give birth. I've heard good things about taking them but when I mentioned it to my doctor he looked at me like I had 5 heads. What do you ladies think?

Ive read alot about this... in the beginning i thought if I had that weird urge to want to I would..( *instinct). Now not so much. Tons ofanimals that do eat them do  it as a survival instinct.  Not nutrition. As some think. I now feel if it was something that we needed there would be some real history on it.. just stick with healthy diet and prenatal vitamins.  But if you have that instictal urge to want to consume yours I would love to know. Out of curiosity.  Cheers!

That is a question only you can answer because it is one of those things that has a lot to do with personal beliefs. I think there is nothing wrong with it and it is not like you asked the Dr to just throw it on your belly when it comes out so you can chow down.  I was actually discussing this with my husband we have not decided yet.
