To those asking about induction.

I was just induced last week with my first child due to toxemia. I couldnt tell you if it was more painful because I had nothing to compare to, but it was about as much as I expected. If your not against it get an epidural, its wonderful!  However if your body isnt quite ready for it labor can be prolonged. I began the process in Thursday about 1 and did not have her until 426 pm Saturday.

I am sharing my story with you all so that if something does not feel right do not be afraid to speak up and be the voice for both you and your baby. After knowing my water was already broke for far too long I began questioning the babys safety and the doctors insisted she was fine. After 18 hours you and baby are open to serious infection. My water was broke for 33 hours!! I ended up spending an extra three days in the hospital, was just released yesterday, and my baby is still in nicu receiving antibiotics. She should be able to come home this weekend. I dont wish it upon anyone to have to leave thei baby in nicu especially if things could have been done differently

So if you are thinking about it, or have it scheduled make sure to use your voice when things do not feel right to you!
