I gained 64 lbs with my first baby. And everything was fine. He was a big baby, 10 lbs 3 oz! But it didn't affect our health. I was definitely heavy for months after he was born, but it wasn't hard to get rid of the weight either, but it did leave me with stretch marks, still some loose skin (9yrs later!) and hemorrhoids (sooooo painful!) I don't think 37 lbs is a huge amount though. And you still have 2 months left so you can monitor your eating for the next 12 weeks and still have time to nip it in the bud! Just make sure you're eating healthy foods and I'm sure everything will be fine when that baby comes!
You only need to consume about 300 more calories than usually during pregnancy. It's not uncommon for woman to gain more than they should and to my knowledge it isn't dangerous for you or your baby. As you don't want to lose weigh during pregnancy, you still can do some light exercise (walking is recommended) to keep from gaining excessive weight. Unfortunately not all that weight is baby, so we're stuck with the extra weight to get rid of at the end. It's not fun. Enjoy your last couple months of pregnancy:)
Everyone is different in weight gain. Is your Dr worried about it? I have an.appt today.and always get nervous about how much I've gained. I know I shouldn't, its good for the baby and bound to gain weight.
